An Ohio teen was arrested after posting a photo on Snapchat that seemed to threaten a school shooting, Fox 8 Cleveland reports.
The Erie County Sheriff's Office in Sandusky received the photo on Saturday from an unnamed source. The image showed a male Vermilion High School student posing with a BB gun, along with a caption that read, "Did someone say mass shooting." The Snapchat came from the account of a female student.
Police tracked down both teens. The boy in the photo reportedly told officers he was unaware that his image had been used in the girl's Snapchat. The female student, whose name has not been released, reportedly said the photo was intended as a "joke" and called it "stupid." She was taken to a county juvenile detention center on charges of menacing.
Law-enforcement agents later turned up no evidence of a planned attack. Vermilion High School has not commented on the incident.
